Stacey, written communications, 1987, 1988). Magmatic epidote is abundant in many of the Late Cretaceous plutons of the North Cascades, including those exposed on the ridges to the south and west of this point. Because of different P-T slopes for the solidus and epidote-breakdown reactions, the two cross, and at T307: 46 River is an unlikely agent to deposit such fine-grained material.
